Winter Break, Extra Cash

I love, love, love being home. I love everything about Maryland and I love being from this great state. As soon as we cross the Robert E. Lee bridge back into this wonderful state I feel instantly better. So needless to say I'm glad to back here for a little while. The only downside/upside (I can't decide on how I feel about it yet) to being home for so long means I will be headed back to work. So to figure out how I feel about it I'm going to channel my inner Massie from the Clique series I used to read in middle school and create an In/Out list. Basically a pro/con list just the totally fab pre-teen version.

In
Making some seriously needed cash
I sometimes enjoy my job
My job is a really great internship at the Census Bureau
Making money
I can have money for Canada
I'm only working three days a week
I can put all of my work attire to use
Making money
Getting dressed up makes me feel like a real adult

Out
Getting up early
Getting out of bed when it's still dark
I sometimes hate my job
It's so cold in the morning
Getting up early
I feel like I am there forever
I actually have to put effort into dressing myself unlike at my women's college where looking good is irrelevant unless your trying to sleep with a professor, haha jk, or am I?
Getting up early
Wasting 8 hours a day of my break

Well since I am a online shopping fool I guess making the extra dough wins and I'm excited about this, but then again that whole waking up before the sun doesn't sound so wonderful.

XOXO,
Amber

(I've been watching to much Gossip Girl lately when xoxo is my first idea for a send off)

Long day followed by a night by myself in the dorm

Last night was fun to say the least. I'm pretty sure I may have exceeded my limit of fun but hey you pick yourself up and move on. Moving on today though definatly kicked my ass though. Lesson learned, so for my own use mainly but maybe others too.

1. Don't spend more than $5 on a trash can for your room you will puke in it and have to throw it away

2. Never initiate a round of shots more than twice in a night or you run the risk of being "that girl" of the night

3. Always have cold water waiting for your self in the morning

4. Before you take another drink try to think about how you'll feel the next day

5. Make your bed before you go out

6. Have some tums on the night stand

7. Don't go hard all weekend every weekend it's ok to go out and have fun but you will run your body down if you try and go out all the time

8. GET YOUR WORK DONE BEFORE, I've been doing pretty good about this but others not so much and now during finals it is defiantly catching up with them

This is what I've learned so far and I'm sure in these coming years I'll learn so much more. Being a freshman has a lot of advantages here but things like this take time and a couple hard fridays to really get the point across.

aMl

A freshman in the land of pearls and ponies, the wonderful Sweet Briar College. I'm from just below the Mason-Dixon line and love going to school even further below it. Everything about the southern lifestyle calls my name but Maryland will always be my home. I love pearls, bows, and anything that sparkles.
